LittleAsia recipe book
kisÁzsia (littleAsia) is a fresh recipe collection by Dávid Kárai. The recipes are inspirated by the colorful and fascinating asian culture. The base of the ideas of the author is the gained experience from his trips in these countries.
The book's content is as unique as the design. We can find several recipe books in this theme, but mostly they use ingredients that are difficult to find in Europe. He not just simplificited the preparationn but also the list of the ingredients. The result is delicious, Asian-inspired fusion dishes.
The book includes two different paper sizes. In the introduction of the book the image frames the text, and after this hierarchy changes in the description of the recipes. The papers are coloured to reduce the conntrast between the ink and the paper as a result, the lector recieves a cozy, friendly and modern visual image.
The red and pink has a main role in the design due to their psychologically and culturally realated meaning to the content.
The design leaves the traditional and usual gastro book designs. The "frame", is the base of the whole design, gives unity to the book, just as the content is framed by the Asian influence, but it is limited by the local possibilities.
